XCIPTV Player: Setup Guide & Is It Worth Using?

XCIPTV Player is a long-standing Android IPTV app with a loyal following. It supports Xtream Codes and M3U, has a decent EPG, and offers multi-screen viewing that some rivals charge for. Here is how to get it running and whether it is the right pick for you.

Which devices XCIPTV works on

XCIPTV is Android-only in practice — Android phones and tablets, Android TV boxes, and Amazon Firestick (which runs a fork of Android). There is no version for iPhone, iPad, Samsung Tizen or LG webOS. If your main screen is a Samsung or LG Smart TV, look at the players those TVs support instead.

Installing XCIPTV

  • Android phone / tablet / TV box — available from the Google Play Store, or as an APK from the developer.
  • Firestick — sideloaded via the free Downloader app, the same method as our Firestick guide.

Note that some builds are paid or ad-supported depending on where you get them — check before installing.

Setting up with Xtream Codes

  1. Open XCIPTV and choose the Xtream Codes API login option.
  2. Enter the portal or server URL exactly as your provider sent it, including http:// and the port.
  3. Enter your username and password from your subscription email.
  4. Confirm, and let the app pull the channel list, VOD library and EPG.

IPTVMain emails all three credentials within minutes of ordering, so you can paste them straight in.

M3U setup

If you only have an M3U URL, pick the M3U option instead and paste the link. As with any player, Xtream Codes gives a more complete experience — particularly for the programme guide.

What XCIPTV does well

  • Multi-screen — several streams at once on one display, handy for a full Saturday of football.
  • Clean EPG — the guide layout is genuinely good on a TV screen.
  • External player support — switch to VLC or MX Player when a channel misbehaves.
  • Catch Up support — where your provider supplies it.

Where it falls short

The main drawback is reach: no iOS, no Samsung, no LG. If your household watches across mixed devices you will end up running two different apps. Setup is also more manual than IBO Player Pro, which IPTVMain activates for you remotely.

XCIPTV vs Smarters vs IBO Player Pro

  • Widest device support — IBO Player Pro (and we activate it for you)
  • Best free optionIPTV Smarters Pro
  • Best multi-screen on Android — XCIPTV
